Roy E. “Tubby” Cox, U.S. Army Veteran, age 76, passed away Monday, June 20, 2022. He was born May 17, 1946, in Derby, Ohio to the late David and Mable Cox. He was a retired tool and die maker with Rockwell International following over 30 years of service. A loving husband, father and brother, Roy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy Cox; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Jack Whitlach; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and David Stephens and Carla and James Adkins; grandchildren, Laura, Nina, Sheila, Devin, Michael, Stephanie, Carl and Jimmie Dean; great-grandchildren, Anastasia, Devontae, Christopher, Jordan, Camron, Makenzie, Aubrey, Jace, Olivia, Jaxon, Harper and Ashton; great great-grandchildren, Bentley , Xavier, Adalynn and Gianna; ex-sons-in-law, Thomas Hudson and Mike Lacey; many nieces nephews and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Geanie Wolf and brothers, Ronnie Cox and David Cox. Veteran U.S Army serving during Vietnam. He was a life member and part of the Color Guard of the Reynoldsburg VFW Post # 9473. Tubby was an avid Buckeye fan, golfer and fisherman who was a bright presence in people’s lives and will be deeply missed.
Family will receive friends 5-8PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232 Graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Mifflin Cemetery.
