Roger Dean Messer, 68, of Columbus passed away on April 27, 2018 at his home. Born in Holden, West Virginia to Walter Messer and Parlea Dempsey. Roger proudly served his country in the Army from 1967 to 1969. It was rare to be in Roger's presence and not have a smile on your face, especially if you were talking about old cars, Mopar, fishing or sitting around a campfire. Roger is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Walt Messer and sister, Wynema McFarland. Lovingly survived by his wife, Theresa Messer; sisters, Judy Maynard and Beverly Burrer; children, Jeremy Messer, Jennifer Messer, Jamie Messer, Joey Messer, Melissa and Amber; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends Wednesday May 2 from 1-3 p.m. at HEART AND HOPE FUNERAL HOME by SCHOEDINGER 3030 W. Broad st. Columbus, Ohio 43204; a service will follow at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions towards services.
