Robert D Reed

Reed, Robert D., age 91, of Columbus, OH passed away on June 9, 2023. He was born on October 3, 1931 in Plumwood, Ohio to the late Alan and Lula Jane (O’Brien) Reed. He joins in death his parents; loving wife Nora Emogene Reed; siblings Louise (Doc) Billman, Betty (Everett) Salyers and Alice Conley. He leaves behind his children Robin Reed, Kim O’Harra (Michael) and Bob Reed (Christine Murphy); grandchildren Ann (Jesse) VanHoose, Amanda Baumberger and Ashley O’Harra; great grandchildren Liam, Ava and Mason. He will also be deeply missed my many nieces, nephews including Gary (Jeannie) Salyers, extended family members and friends including family friend Fran Sanders. Before he began his career with Ohio Bell he served in the United States Air Force. He retired after 36 years of faithful service with Ohio Bell/Ameritech He enjoyed his winters in Daytona Beach, Florida with summers in Columbus, Ohio. He lived his life of almost 92 years with the idea that you "rest you rust." He was avid Ohio State Buckeye fan. Visitation will be held on Monday June 19, 2023 from 10AM to 12Noon at the Advantage Funeral Home – Hilltop Chapel at 3030 W Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43204 where the funeral service will take place at 12Noon. Pastor Tim Lee will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Somerford Cemetery near London, Ohio. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation, Inc. at Disabled Veterans National Foundation, 4601 Forbes Blvd., Suite 130, Lanham, MD 20706.
