Robert E. Lyday, Sr. age 85, of Grove City, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 8, 2024. Robert was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 28, 1939 to Harold S. and Julia Lyday. He attended West High School and worked for 42 years at United Seal Co. His passion was cars. To call him an automotive enthusiast is an understatement. Robert loved stock cars and was a huge race fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Julia Lyday; and brother, Harold W. Lyday. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dolores J. “Dee” Lyday; children, Robert E. Lyday Jr., John G. (Tiscia) Lyday, and Michael Rowedda; many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Glenn Lyday, Janet Snodgress, and Kenneth (Carol) Lyday; many nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Rosie. The family will receive friends from 2-4:00 pm on Friday, December 13, 2024, at Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm with Rev. PK Fowler officiating.
