Robert "Bobby" "Pop-Pop" Joseph was born to Tony and Katherine Joseph on August 1, 1931 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. He entered Heaven on March 17, 2018 at the age of 86. Bobby resided in Columbus, OH with his wife of 62 years, Nancy Joseph.
Bobby began his legacy at Martins Ferry High School where he excelled at football, basketball, baseball, and track. As a high school football All-American, he went on to earn a scholarship to play at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana where he was a member of their 1954 National Championship team. For 2 years he also played basketball for the Fighting Irish and was the undefeated Bengal Bouts Boxing Champion in 1953 and 1954. Following his career at Notre Dame, he taught school and coached football. In 1955 he entered the Air Force and became a First Lieutenant in 1957. After the Air Force he worked for the state of Ohio for several years before starting his career in real estate. Bobby lived a life full of outstanding accomplishments, but of them all it was his family that he took the most pride in. On September 2nd, 1955 he married the love of his life, Nancy Krnyaich and together they share 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and 4 (and counting) great grandchildren. Pop-Pop dedicated his life to his kids and grandkids; however, his spirit touched the lives of not just his family, but virtually everyone that he knew (which may have been the entire state of Ohio). Commonly referred to as "Mr. Wonderful," Bobby's sense of humor and wit commanded every room he walked into and his passion for life was contagious.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Nancy Joseph; children, Cathy (Bill), Chris (Kelly), and Jennifer (Jason); and grandchildren Christopher, Joe, Tre, Tyler, Zack, Colby, Stephanie, Madison, Joseph, and Jay; great-grandchildren, Gianna, Ryder, Robert, and Mia; and one brother Tommy (Elise). He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Katherine and siblings Fifi, Joe, Helen, Albert, Edmond, Eugene and Earl.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 23 at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. Family will receive friends from 4-6pm with a service beginning at 6pm
