Richard C. Sarver was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 7th 1943. Richard passed on December 1st 2019 at Mt Carmel East Hospital in Gahanna, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Sarver, beloved sister Donna Sarver, and loving wife of 25 years Jeanne Kerr-Sarver. He is survived by his daughter Marci Gregory, son-in-law Brian Gregory, son Dr. Christopher Sarver, beloved grandchildren Hunter Gregory and Elizabeth Gregory, loving and faithful friend Susan O'Donnell, her grandchildren Ainslee and Ben, Dr. Charles and Cindy Kerr and their children Joshua, Shannon, Brittany, Lindsey, and Sean.
Richard grew up in Euclid, Ohio. He had many loving memories of his family, especially his sister. He was extraordinarily proud of her art and proudly displayed it in all his homes his entire life. He played piano and saxophone, was in band and had a love for music and the arts. He proudly attended The Ohio State University, became a member of the OSU marching band, and cherished the friendships he made there. He was, of course, a forever -fierce Buckeye fan!
After graduation he went on to work mostly in work related to the medical field. He worked at the Cleveland Clinic and assisted with open heart surgeries and valve replacements. It was during this time at the Clinic that he met his first wife of seven years, Donna Sarver.
He also had a great interest in plants, animals, and insects. He later worked in pharmaceuticals and was a successful and talented salesman.
He enjoyed movies, sci-fi books, music, arts, gardening and traveling, and always looked forward to Christmas. He was a great and thoughtful gift giver. He also loved to travel and was able to make those dreams come true with both his late wife Jeanne and later with his good friend and companion Susan. Whenever he could, he attended events for his grandchildren in Columbus and Nashville, and was very proud of all of them and their accomplishments. His dog Oscar was a great source of comfort as well a faithful companion to him these past twelve years: Oscar misses his Dad.
Graveside service will be held on December 5th at 11:00 AM at Kingwood Memorial Park in Lewis Center, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the OSU Wexner Medical Center's Brain and Spine Care Fund.
