Richard A. Horton, 68 of Worthington, passed peacefully on Tuesday April 14, 2020. A private burial will take place at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. Richard, better known as, "Dick," son of Sam Horton and Lena Marie grew up in Fairborn, Ohio, as the youngest of four children (survived by Sam Horton and Pat Armstrong). Dick loved being outside and playing every sport, especially baseball. There was only one thing, "Dickie," loved more than sports and that was his bond with his mother; whom he cherished deeply. Dick enrolled at The Ohio State University, and moved to Columbus, Ohio; where he ultimately lived for the rest of his life. From a young age Dick was always a hard worker. He managed, "The Library," on OSU's Campus, while attending Undergrad. Ultimately, Dick's passion to work with people lead him to pursue a career in Real Estate. Dick and his former wife (Sheryl Horton) became one of the top selling teams in Central Ohio. The two built a small multifamily Real Estate portfolio in Upper Arlington and Grandview; running the business themselves. He eventually became a Real Estate Broker in Florida. Dick is survived by two sons, Miles (32) and Riley (28). Miles has the same appetite and ambition and works in Real Estate; while Riley works in the Hospitality Industry. As a very proud father, Dick, took an active role in both of his son's lives, coaching sports teams, driving back and forth to countless practices and rehearsals, as well as hosting numerous events. Dick was always a social butterfly and involved in many organizations such as The Childhood League and The Columbus Board of Realtors. Aside from his primary love of his family and people, Dick had three main passions: dogs, the beach, and cars. Dick loved dogs, especially Afghan Hounds; which he loved to watch run. Dick treasured traveling to the Beach, both with family and friends. Eventually, he had a second home in Naples, Florida. Dick's love for cars stayed with him his entire life. He could often be found detailing or driving one, especially his classic red convertible, around Worthington. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dick's name to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank.
