Richard Adam Golden passed away March 8, 2015. He was born in Dover, Delaware on September 25, 1944 and lived most of his life in Ohio. He graduated from Bexley High School where he was co-captain of the varsity wrestling team. An unfortunate accident during a wrestling match in 1962 left him a quadriplegic for his remaining 53 years. He graduated with a BA degree from Ohio Dominican and a masters from Cincinnati University. He retired from Nationwide Insurance. In spite of his disability he enjoyed helping others in need. Survived by his loving mother, Marguerite; brothers Jim (Pat) and Steve (Karen); sister-in-law Janie Golden; nieces Shannon Young and Emily Anne Golden; nephews Justin Golden (Deanna) and Jeremiah Golden. Preceded in death by his father Adam and his brother Charles. A service will be held at 1pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH 43229 where family will welcome friends beginning at 12noon; interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens; Pastor Rick Breusch, officiating. Memorials may be made to Creative Living 150 W. 10th Ave., Columbus, OH 43201-2093. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the sensitivity and care provided by many healthcare providers, hospitals and their staff, and his devoted home health nurse.
