Patty and her husband, Bill, truly enjoyed their lives together, traveling the United States and the world for many years and countless miles.

Patty was well known for her grace and her compassion to others and never spoke an unkind word. She was a cherished friend to all who knew her; she was dearly loved and she will be deeply missed.

Patty was an extremely talented seamstress who lovingly created beautiful dresses for her nieces and great nieces. She was also an avid and gifted crafter. Patty was an excellent cook; she also loved square dancing and bowling.

Patty worked for 45 years for Columbus Mutual. In her retirement she was a dedicated volunteer for the Sewing Guild of Riverside Hospital for 25 years and the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) for 23 years.

Patty is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Robert Armstrong, and her sister Ann (Armstrong) Mertz. Patty is survived by her husband of 75 years, William "Bill" White; her sister Pegge (Armstrong) Axline; her nieces and nephews, Teri (Mertz) Meider, Pegge (Mertz) Riley, Celeste Armstrong, Robert Armstrong, Jr., Richard Armstrong, Kristen Axline, Susan Axline, and Anne (Axline) Howell; many great nieces and nephews; and so many dearly-loved and treasured friends.

Patty's husband, Bill, and her nieces, Teri Meider and Pegge Riley, would like to express their gratitude to Heartland Hospice, especially Joanna H., RN, for their loving and heartfelt care of Patty as she neared the end of her life.

Funeral services will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, Ohio on Tuesday, October 20, 2020; visitation will be 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.; service 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.; burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.

For those who are unable to attend in person, a live video feed of the service will be available on this website for viewing online.

In lieu of flowers, loved ones are encouraged to make a donation in Patty's name to Heartland Hospice Services of Columbus or The Cat Welfare Association of Columbus.
