Mary Lou France, age 82, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Doctors Hospital West. Mary Lou was born on October 4, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to Fred and Phyllis Thompson. She loved to play bingo and visit the Hollywood Casino. She also enjoyed going for car rides, people watching, drawing, and fishing with her husband. Mary Lou supported St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray France Sr.; siblings, Fred Thompson, Robert Thompson and Shirley Montgomery; and son-in-law, Robert Cruz. Survived by children, Ray France Jr., Barbara Cruz, and Tracy (John) Messmer; grandchildren, Justin (Tasha), Brandin (Anna) and Katelyn; great grandchildren, Haley, Brianna, Ava, Jansen, and Carter; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 from 4-7 pm at Advantage Funeral Home by Schoedinger Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204. Graveside and interment will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:30 am at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 W. Broad Street, Galloway, Ohio 43119. Memorial contributions can be made St. Jude Children’s Hospital in her memory.
