Margaret Ann (Peggy) Murphy, age 63, of Upper Arlington, Ohio lost a courageous and inspirational battle with pancreatic cancer October 5, 2024. Peggy endured the fight with determined courage and undaunted faith, while maintaining her generous heart and an abundance of love for her family and countless friends. Her beautiful soul will live on in memory for us all.
Peggy and David celebrated thirty-four years of marriage in 2024. On that journey, we welcomed the joys of our children, Patrick and Elizabeth, and all the wonderful experiences parents can have through family, school, sports, faith community, and professional lives.
Peggy is survived by David, son Patrick (Jamie), and daughter Elizabeth, Tom and Carol Murphy (parents), siblings Kevin (Amelia), Mike (Amy), Pat (Donna), Mary (Michael), Peter (Lynne), and Kathleen (Jim), along with many generations of nieces and nephews, whom she adored!
Peggy received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Ohio State University and practiced for many years in the design studio. Her love for the art of construction and working with people who love to accomplish the difficult task of building complex projects led her to spend the last twenty years “in the field” as a construction manager, working alongside so many valued professionals who became great friends along the way.
Peggy kept a busy schedule of raising a family and professional career, but also loved to endlessly tend to her beloved home and gardens to make sure they were beautiful and welcoming to all who visited. Time with family and friends was always the focus of her labors.
Peggy cultivated a deep faith and trust in Christ, following God’s guidance in all aspects of her life, particularly when the recent challenges of life were unavoidable. Her continual nurturing of this faith became a big part of connecting with others who were seeking guidance through their faith journey, which brought her so much joy.
Visitation with the family of Peggy will be held October 20, 2024 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at Schoedinger Funeral Home (Northwest), 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus OH 43221.
Funeral Services will be October 21, 2024, 10:00am, at St, Josephine Bakhita Catholic Church, 6077 Sharon Woods Blvd., Columbus OH 43229.
In lieu of flowers, Peggy and David request donations be sent to The Kobacker House of Columbus, https://www.ohiohealth.com/locations/hospice/kobacker-house. The angels in health care who work here do amazing things in hospice care. Please support them on Peggy’s behalf.
