Marcia Ann Dowdell

Marcia A. Dowdell, 87, of Columbus, died Wednesday, April 23, 2014. She was born March 17, 1927 in Eccles, WV to the late Earl and Hildred (Lyons) Blakely. She was a graduate of Newton Falls High School and owned Pension Retirement Planning. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Marcia enjoyed cooking and gardening, but mostly her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband George and sister Earleen Layshock. She is survived by sons Terry (Mary), Charlottesville, VA, and David (Beverly), Mendon, VT, grandchildren Susie (Matt) Johnson, Christopher (Kristen) Dowdell, Jonathan (Amy) Dowdell, Becky (Jamie) Harris, Adam (Wendy) Dowdell, and T.J. Dowdell, great grandchildren Brett (Kendra) Barrowman, Justin Barrowman, Jordan Dowdell, Allyson Johnson, Emma Johnson, Erica Hilton, Kendal Dowdell, Madison Harris, Jacob Hensley-Dowdell, Theron Harris, Caelen Harris, and Krissy Dowdell, great-great grandchildren Bradley Barrowman and Connor Barrowman, sisters Betty McCullough, Cheryl Douglas and Lynn (Paul) Shutes. Family will receive friends Monday, April 28, 2014 from 5-7 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 10 AM.
