Linda Lou Marshall, age 69, of Columbus, peacefully passed away with loved ones at her side on February 21, 2015. She was born to the late Wilma B. and Harold W. Marshall on June 29, 1945 in New Carlisle, OH. Linda is survived by her sister, Nancy (Robert) Manns; 3 nieces, Jodeena, Cheryl, and Nicole; 6 great-nieces and nephews; Judy Stanford her partner of 28 years; and step-brother, William Marshall and his 8 children. Linda graduated from New Carlisle High School and Otterbein College. She was a member of Arbutus Sorority and obtained her degree in Social Work. Linda retired from The Franklin County Welfare Department and The Ohio Department of Human Services. She was a Master Gardner and found peace and God working in her beautiful gardens. She volunteered for over 15 years at OSU Chadwick Arboretum where she served as chairperson and played an instrumental part in the planning of the annual tree and shrub auction. Linda was also a docent at the Columbus Zoo and loved to share her wealth of knowledge about the animals in the North America Exhibit with the zoo visitors. She was a volunteer at Lovers Key State Park in Florida during the winter months.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will begin at 2:30 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger RD., where guests are welcome to visit from 1pm-2:30pm. Chaplain Faith Callison, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Capital Area Humane Society, 3015 Scioto Darby Executive Ct., Columbus, OH 43026 or the dog rescue of your choice as well as to The Ohio State University Chadwick Arboretum, 2001 Fyffe Ct., Columbus, OH 43210.
