Les Zartman

Leslie C. Zartman, age of 71 is resting in the arms of his Heavenly Father. Les graduated from Whetstone High School in 1969. He earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters of Arts in Biblical Studies degree from Dallas Theological Seminary. May 12, 1973, he married the love of his life, Jacquie.

Les retired from The Ohio State University in 2012. In his early days, Les played music with friends Star McClendon and Jim Johnson as well as many others in coffee houses, college campuses and weddings. Les was a talented musician and songwriter who was gifted at playing the trumpet and guitar as well as singing bass. Les and Jacquie were devoted members of Vineyard Church of Columbus since 1989 and served in many ways over the years.

Les is preceded in death by his father, Carl; mother, Mary Ellen; father in law, Jack Bowman; sister in law, Debbie Bowman and granddaughter, Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jacquie; daughter, Renee; son, Jim (Abby); sister, Linda (Mike); mother in law, Marcella; brother in law, Doug; sister in law, Tammy (Jeb); brother in law Marc (Donna) and grandchildren Ashley (Jeff), Chloe, Chase, Jensen, and Vera; Nieces, Aubri, Jamie, Joy (Eric) and Nephew, Jordan (Emily). Les had many wonderful friends that were like family to him; Jim and Sharie, Don and Malinda, Ted and Pam, Steve H, Ray and Susie, Hannah and Samuel, Beth and Sandy.

The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2022 4-6:30pm at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221. Private funeral and burial to follow at Somerset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Celebrate Life Foundation through Bella Care Hospice, https://www.bellacarehospice.net/celebrate-life, would be appreciated as they provided so much love and care for Les. Jesus said to her, “ I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11: 25 - 26.
