Laura was born December 10, 1929 in Columbus, Ohio to the late William L. and Mary E. Van Cleaf. In addition to her parents, Laura (Van Cleaf) Walker was preceded in death by her loving husband, Albert Walker, Sr.; daughter, Cheryl Denise; siblings William III, Jacqueline and Joyce (Bryant).
She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Central High School of Columbus, Ohio. She was employed by Presutti’s Villa, Red Door Tavern, and retired from The Department of Human Services.
Laura was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was essential and the center of her world. One of her favorite pastimes was cooking for her family and sharing a meal with them, especially homemade Johnny Marzetti and yeast rolls. Laura and Albert enjoyed tropical vacations and cruises. She was well respected for her generous caring and compassion toward her family.
Laura is survived by her children, Edith, Cathy (Eddie) Griffin, Albert Jr. (Loretta), Diane, David and Michele; siblings Patricia (Charles Wess), Donald, Nancy; and hosts of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on a date to be determined.
