Julie attended Eastgate Elementary and later University High, where her vibrant personality and enthusiasm made her a standout student. During her high school years, Julie was active despite being humorously noted as “accident-prone” in her senior yearbook. She served as treasurer of her class in junior year, attended Buckeye Girls State, assisted the yearbook staff, was a member of the high school girls' club B.U.G. and was the accountant for the senior year christmas card sale. Her leadership and dedication were always on display, and she looked forward to attending Kent State University after graduation.
Julie went on to a long and successful career, retiring twice—first from the United States Postal Service and later from the Franklin County Board of Elections. Starting as a mail carrier, her ambition and work ethic led her to supervisor / upper management, where she was respected by colleagues and known for her striking platinum hair, effective leadership, and dedication.
At the Franklin County Board of Elections, Julie was named employee of the month, one of the managers in early vote center, worked in absentee and voter services, and played a key role in the Tenex system for the Board of Elections. Her leadership on election nights and her involvement with the Franklin County Republican Central Committee made a lasting impact on the community.
Julie lived by the words, “Life is just one damn thing after another,” reflecting her humor and resilience. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, warmth, and dedication to family, friends, and colleagues.
Julie will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and service will continue to live on.
Those left to cherish her memories include her loving sister and brother-in-law, Beth Kym Fields and Donald Fields Sr; her nephew, Donald Fields Jr.; her niece, Devyn Hicks and husband Troy Hicks Sr.; great-nieces Jayla Fields-Arline, and Aliyah Fields-Thomas; and great-nephews Josiah Thomas Jr. and Troy Hicks Jr., and many relatives and friends.
