Julia Mathews Kelly

Julia M. Kelly, age 92, of Point Pleasant, WV passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016. She was born on July 2, 1924 in Gallipolis Ferry, WV, daughter of late John C. Mathews and Mary Catherine (Nibert) Mathews. Julia retired from Lucent Technologies, and she was an active member of the Mason County Democratic Women's Organization. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Maggie Bartolomucci; sisters, Margaret Wolfe, Marilyn Foutch, Christina Long, and Betty Henry; brothers, John C. "Syke" Mathews, Robert "Jack" Mathews, Chris E. Mathews, and Harry Mathews; special friend, Roger Lee. Julia is survived by her daughter, Patricia J. (Jim) Halley of Columbus, OH; son, Lawrence W. Kelly of Louisville, KY; brother, Thomas Mathews of Cypress, TX; sister, Nancy Conrad of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Carla (Chris) Peery of Bexley, OH, Thomas W. Bartolomucci of Somerset, OH, Jeffrey T. Bartolomucci of Newark, OH, Tito Kelly of Colorado, and Billie Jo Ojeda of Colorado; 8 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Thomas Bartolomucci of Thornville, OH. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Zion Ridge Cemetery, 8000 High Point Rd. Thornville, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger East Chapel.
