John W. "Jack" Myers

John “Jack” W. Myers, age 91 of Upper Arlington, passed away Thursday, August 1st, 2024. Jack was born in Columbus Ohio on February 25th, 1933, son of the late Paul and Lydia Myers. Jack was a 1951 graduate of Grandview Heights High School. It was there Jack met Carole (Bennett) Myers, his high school sweetheart, and were married on December 21, 1954. Jack continued his education at Ohio University being a proud brother of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He started his career as a USMC pilot where Jack retired with the rank of Major. In 1958 Jack joined his father Paul in the family business, Myers Real Estate, where he became the company’s President and Broker. In 1993 Jack and his partners bought and operated the Columbus area Coldwell Banker Grand Traditions Offices. After selling the business in 2001 he retired. Jack was President of the Columbus Relators in 1991, Columbus Chapter of the Institute for Real Estate Management (IREM) in 1979, and also obtained the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation during his career. Jack was a proud Charter member at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

After retiring, Jack and Carole settled in Palm Coast, Florida and in recent years they moved back home to Columbus taking up residence at First Community Village. On their summer weekends and vacations you could find Jack and Carole on their boat cruising the Great Lakes with family and friends.

Jack will be deeply missed by his children, John (Elizabeth) Myers Jr., Mike (Denise) Myers, and Kerri Myers; brother, Paul (Joan) Myers; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; seven nieces & nephew; and many other extended family members and dear friends.

Family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M. Friday, August 30, 2024 at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd. A memorial service celebrating Jack will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 2001 Northwest Blvd.
