John Carson David Meyer

On Sunday, May 22, 2022, John went to be with Jesus, surrounded by his immediate family.

John was born in Elgin, Illinois on March 27, 1961 to Edmond and Julia (Kuhn) Meyer. He married the love of his life, Theresa (Pride), on May 29, 1982. They moved to Columbus, Ohio and were blessed with four children and seven grandchildren. John and Theresa enjoyed many trips together. They were best friends and travel buddies. “Papaw” John was adored by his grandbabies. He loved to play with them, taking them fishing, throwing a ball, or just rocking them to sleep. John lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed tinkering in his workshop where he produced practical, functional items for home and travel. He pursued various hobbies including photography and woodworking. He even attained his pilot’s license. John worked as a truck driver for 35 years, first with Emery and then Usher, where he made numerous friends along the way. John loved Jesus and walked out his faith everyday serving and helping others any way he could. John is survived by his wife, Theresa; children, Lara (Frank), Heather (Tony), Emily (Derek), and Zachary (Stephen); grandchildren, Lillian, Madison, Jolene, Xavier, Paisley, Theodore, and Bennett; his parents, Edmond and Julia; his brothers, Joe (Deborah), and Jim (Marla), as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family and friends are welcome to attend a Celebration of John’s Life on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Impact City Church.

Calling hours will be held 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm with a Celebration of Life Service to follow.
