John Lowell Evans

John L. Evans born September 11, 1933 in Nelsonville, Ohio. He graduated from Linden McKinley High School, class of 1953. He retired from SBC/AT&T Telephone Company after 38 years. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Karl Rd. Christian Church. He was a masonic member of the F&AM Lodge #86 and 32 degree Scottish Rite.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Georgia Steenrod Evans; sister, Alice Jean Evans-Brown; and first wife, Mary L. Steel.

John is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Evans; sons, Rick (Judy) Evans, Gary (Pam) Evans and Jeff Evans; daughter, Brenda (Tony) Kemmerling; nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two step children, Elaine (Joseph) Gleason and Brent Spaeth; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Family will accept friends from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday, November 20, 2022 with a Masonic Service at 4:30pm and from 10:00am-11:00am on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, where funeral service will follow at 11:00am. John will be laid to rest at Kingwood Memorial Park.

The family strongly recommends friends to wear masks during the visitation and funeral service.
