John A. Ackerman, age 94, passed away June 27, 2023 in peace at Grant Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. John was a graduate of Grandview High School and The Ohio State University. He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, 24th Infantry Regiment, and went on to serve 40 years with the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus, Ohio. John is preceded in death by his wife Doris, son Samuel, and grandson Jerry, Jr. He is survived by nieces, Lynn Rein of Bellingham, Washington and Patty Weber of Fairbanks, Alaska; children, Renee and Jerry (Erin); grandchildren, Maggie, John, Adrienne, Emily, Hilary, and Joseph; and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 6, 2023 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43221. Graveside service will be held at 2 P.M.
