Jerry Van Dyke, age 67, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2014. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. Jerry served as a Marine in Vietnam during 1966-1968. He was a skilled flooring craftsman for 40 years who loved his trade.
Jerry never knew a stranger… he made friends with every cashier, nurse, neighbor, co-worker, and everyone he met. He was very intelligent with many talents from fixing cars, cooking, to playing guitar, all of these being self taught. Jerry had many interests and enjoyed music, fishing, bowling, teaching and teasing, gardening, ping pong, and Sega golf.
Jerry will be dearly missed by his wife of 47 years, Lois; children, Amy (Bob) Ciotola, Brian Van Dyke and Beth Van Dyke; grandchildren, Clay, Jake, Savannah Ciotola, Cierra and Carissa Van Dyke; siblings, Kenny (Marilyn), Everett (Carol), Linda Van Dyke and Rita Hamm; in-laws, Annabelle (Dick) Noe, Bev (Jack) Ross, Cathy (Gary) Roudebush, Bill (Tami) Meaige, Tom (Juanita) Meaige; many nieces, nephews and other dear relatives. Preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edith; siblings, Walter, Gerald, Charlotte, Genevieve, and Herbert.
Family and friends may call from 3-8 p.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Worthington Christian Church, 8145 N. High Street in Worthington, where his Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2014. Pastor Bill Meaige officiating. Burial to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park. His services are entrusted to Schoedinger Worthington Chapel.
