Jeffrey Richard

July 24, 1965 - August 20, 2020

Jeffrey David Richard, aka "JR", "Godfather", "Bobby", age 55, of Gahanna, Ohio, passed away on August 20, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born in West Warwick, Rhode Island, on July 24, 1965. He graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1983. Following high school, he started employment at Shepherd Excavating where he worked for many years as a Project Manager then was recently promoted to Vice President. Jeff was hard working, determined, witty, and supportive, but most of all was calm, cool, and collected in any situation. He enjoyed playing golf, watching and attending sports events, camping, and relaxing with family and friends.

Jeff is survived by his wife Gena, daughter Denise, son Blake, father Bill (Mary) Richard, brother Eric (Missy) Richard, aunt Andrea Randel, mother-in-law Charlene Sexton, brother-in-law Kurt (Michele) Sexton, niece Abigail Sexton, and many other family, friends, and work acquaintances. He is preceded in passing by his mother Michelle Chappell and sister Denise Richard.

An immediate family only prayer service will be held Friday, August 28, 2020, at 3:00 pm with visitation following from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 1051 East Johnstown Road, Columbus, Ohio 43230.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeff's honor may be made to The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
