Jean "Jeanne" M. Sours

Jean “Jeanne” Merriman Sours, age 94, longtime resident of Upper Arlington, passed away December 3, 2023, after a short illness. She was born February 13, 1929, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Thomas M. and Mary K. Merriman. Predeceased by her husband Thomas J. Sours; sisters Marianne Hamilton (Dr. Charles H Hamilton) and Diane Lewis (Dr. John L. Lewis); sister-in-law Barbara Leighner and nephew Raymond J Lewis. Jeanne graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1946 with her high school sweetheart Tom. Jeanne and Tom married and made their home in Upper Arlington where they raised their family and resided in the same home for 70 years. She led a life of service, faith, and devotion to family and friends and was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Jeanne is survived by her son, Thomas Steven Sours (Leslie); daughters, Jennifer Sours Shaw (Jay, deceased), and Kathryn Sours Higbee (Michael); grandchildren Peter Webster Sours (Kris), Thomas Douglas Sours (Jane), John Christopher Higbee (fiance Libby), Thomas Matthew Higbee (Gretchen), and Sarah Kathryn Higbee; great-granddaughters Samantha and Sylvia Sours; loving nieces and nephews, Greg Hamilton , Mary Hamilton Mak, Charlotte Hamilton, John Lewis, Tom Lewis, and Bob Leighner. There will be a private family service.
