James is survived by children; Theresa Smith, Kathy Browning, and Brian Wollenberg, grandchildren; Madeleine Smith, Jack Browning, Nathan Smith, Liam Browning, and Joe Browning, sister, Martha Sagan, along with other dear family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Wollenberg.
James was known to his many family members and friends as someone that could crack a joke and make the whole room light up. Whether he was spoiling his beloved children with colorful flowers, singing along to his favorite classic oldies hits, or reminiscing about times of the past with you, James always had a way to put a smile on your face. He was a loyal member of Saint John XXIII Parish, where he could be found devoting himself to prayer many times a week. A very spiritual man, James allowed the Lord to guide him through life and will now walk hand in hand with Him and beyond. James’s devotion to his Lord lead him in spreading the unconditional love of God through generosity, as he was heavily involved in the Byron Saunders Foundation of New Albany, which works to donate Thanksgiving meals to families in need across Central Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Byron Saunders Foundation, P.O. Box 268, New Albany, OH 43054. Family will receive friends TUESDAY, JUNE 11 from 10-12PM at SCHOEDINGER EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5360 E. Livingston Ave, with a funeral mass to follow, at Saint John XXIII Parish, 5170 Winchester Southern Rd, at 12:30PM, with burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Please share a memory or send condolences to James’s family.
