James David Phillips, age 37, passed away suddenly on December 6, 2019, in Columbus Ohio. He was born June 12, 1982 in Tallahassee, Florida. JD was a free spirit, with a passion for the outdoors, music and the sunshine state. JD loved his family and cherished car rides with his sister, jamming to his favorite tunes. JD's biggest inspiration was his daughter, Kaylee, whom he treasured -- not a day went by he didn't brag about her. JD is survived by his daughter, Kaylee Nicole Phillips; mother, Pamela L. Riddle-Smith; father, Bart (Connie) Phillips; siblings, Kevin (Melissa) Hyme, Patricia M. Hyme-Brown, Jeremie A. Phillips, Amanda Fay Smith, and Nick Phillips; grandfathers, Rex Riddle, Sr., and Jerry Phillips; nieces, Briana Nicole Jones, Kayla Marie Hyme; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. JD is preceded in death by his brother, Jacob Riddle Phillips; grandmothers, Patricia Winifred Riddle and LaRose Phillips. Family will receive friends from 11AM-12PM on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at the Heart and Hope by Schoedinger Funeral home, 3030 West Broad Street Columbus, Ohio 43204 where Celebration of Life ceremony to begin at 12:00 PM (all are welcome), officiated by his uncle, Pastor Dave Riddle.
