Hilda Agnes Beckman

She was born on May 15, 1943, in Richland Center, Wisconsin to the late Frank and Grace (Laubmeier) Liegl. She was the youngest of four daughters.

Hilda was married to Gerry Beckman on April 11, 1964, in Wisconsin and had four children. Gerry’s career took them to various places. They called Wisconsin, Georgia, Connecticut, Texas, and Ohio home through the years and made many great friends. Hilda was a gentle spirit, always smiling, and would visit and make friends wherever she went.

She loved spending time with her family and friends. You could also find her outside working in the yard, sewing fun things, baking with her grandkids, or swinging quietly with Gerry watching the “hummers” (hummingbirds).

Left to cherish Hilda’s memory are her husband, Gerry Beckman, of Galloway; daughters, Susan Walchshauser, of Ponder, Texas and Pam (John) Linse, of Hilliard; son, Scott (Janet) Beckman, of Dublin; grandchildren, Brian, Will, Katie, Chloe, and Harper; sisters, Mary Ann Ciesielski, Theresa Valetti and Helen Lindgren; many nieces and nephews.

Hilda is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Liegl; and son, Kurt Beckman.

There will be a Memorial Mass, at Saints Simon & Jude Church, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH 43162 on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 6pm. She will be laid to rest in Wisconsin, at a later date, to be determined by the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Hilda’s name to your local humane society.
