Helen was born to Catherine Elizabeth and Emmit Wilson Irving. Her older brother, Charles, sacrificed his life to save others during WWII.
It was while she attended Wellesley College that she met her first husband, William who attended and was graduated from MIT. Helen and Bill had 3 children, Bill, Charlie and Cathy.
After William's death in 1978, Helen was blessed with a second husband, Richard, in 1980, who had 4 children. After Richard died in 2001, Helen was again blessed with a third husband, Norman. Norman died in 2013.
Helen was active in St. John's Episcopal Church, Worthington, Ohio, where she attended for 50 years. She had also been active in the DAR, several church choirs, a symphony group, and the Ohio Historical Society. Her hobbies also included gardening, sewing, traveling and cooking.
Helen was a devoted and generous mother and grandmother, and a loving and supportive wife. Surviving are her children William (and Rita), Charles (and Mary) and Cathy (and Tim), grandchildren Lisa, Scott, Grace, Jennifer, Mae, Patrick and Liz, and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1 hour before the funeral service. The funeral and celebration of her life will be at St. John's Episcopal Church, Worthington, Ohio, on October 12, 2019 at 3pm. The service will be officiated by Rev. Steven Applegate (St. John's Episcopal Church) and Rev. Stephen Smith (St. Patrick's Episcopal Church).
