Jerry had a love for education that yielded him a Master’s Degree, leading him to a long and successful career, eventually retiring as an administrator for the Columbus Public School system. He was an avid traveler and sought to see as many places as he could, taking him from the North Pole to Australia and everywhere in between. He was devoted to his country, enlisting in the Ohio Army National Guard. Jerry also devoted his life to his family and friends; Known as a kind, generous, and genuine friend to many people, and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather to many more.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his former wife, Kathryn. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Leslie; Brother Richard (Susanna) Woodruff; Son Richard Woodruff; Stepchildren, Michael Tuller and Wendy Tuller; Grandchildren, Wes (Kim) Woodruff, Brendan (Chelsea) Woodruff and their son Cameron, Danny Woodruff, and Will Woodruff, and their mother, Wendy Woodruff; Step-grandchildren, Orie (Chloe) McCarthy, Michael Tuller, Travis Tuller, and Madison (Rohit Krishnan) Tuller; Step-great-grandchildren, Rylan and Conor McCarthy and their mother Jenifer Jones; Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A public visitation will be held at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, OH 43221, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 from 11:00AM-12:00PM, followed by a service at 12:00PM and luncheon at 1:00PM. In honor of Jerry, the family requests that guests wear casual attire.
