George W. Stevens, age 84, went home to be with his beloved lord on December 19, 2022. He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Suzy Stevens; his parents, O.C. and Jean Stevens; and brother John Stevens. George is survived by sons David (Suzanne), Frederick (Carol), Thomas (Ronda) Stevens; five granddaughters; seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons and many friends. George was retired from Columbus Public Schools after 31 years as a science teacher; 25 years of those years were at Eastmoor Middle School. He was a graduate of Mt .Gilead High school, Ohio State University and Western Michigan University. He was a member Sunrise Masonic Lodge 783; Westgate Chapter 216 Royal Arch Masons; Columbus Council 8 Royal and Select Masons; Aladdin Temple Shrine and Past Masters Unit; Ancient an Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus and a 33 degree Mason; Mount Vernon Commandery1; Andrew J. White Council of Allied Masonic Degrees 245; Past Grand Orator of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio; DeMolay Legion of Honor, Grove City Chapter 502 Order of Eastern Star. His love for his dogs, flower gardening, boating, and Masonry provided him with many happy years. He was a parishioner of St. Brigid of Kildare Church and had a strong relationship with his savior. The family is especially appreciative of the prayers and support from Monsignor Hendricks, Fr. Morris and Deacons Paul Zemanek, Don Poireir and Frank lannarino. The family will receive friends at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd. from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday, December 28. The Mass of Resurrection will be at St. Brigid of Kildare Church, 7175 Avery Road, Dublin, Ohio, at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, December 29. A luncheon will be served after the Mass in Hendricks Hall. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S. High St. Lockbourne, Ohio 43137, following the luncheon.
