David Spence

David Spence, aged 61, passed away on October 11, 2024, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on February 23, 1963, in Queens, NY, David was a man whose life was anchored by an immense love for his family and a spirited dedication to service.

David's life was a testament to his character; a veteran who served his country with pride, he carried his generosity and compassion into every aspect of his life. Known for his larger-than-life personality, David's actions spoke volumes of his benevolence. Whether it was offering the shirt off his back, forgiving debts, or quietly paying for a meal to brighten someone's day, he lived by a profound ethos of kindness. His love was fierce and unwavering, especially towards those fortunate to be close to him.

He leaves behind his mother, Catherine McCarthy; his children, Kevin Neal, Mary Spence, David Spence Jr., and Andrew Spence; and his grandchildren, Benjamin Spence and Ellie Neal. David's significant other, Patrice Harris, also survives him, sharing in the legacy of his love.

A memorial service to honor David's life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, OH 43221. The service will be followed by a visitation from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. After the visitation, a reception will follow at 5 PM at the Ruckmoor Lounge, 7496 N High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43235.
