Daniel Patrick Kidwell

Daniel Patrick Kidwell, age 88, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born on March 17, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, the youngest of nine children to the late Marjorie (Lasher) and Harold Kidwell.

Danny was a retired Foreman with the Franklin County Facilities Management, where he worked for many years and formed lasting friendships. He had a love for life, enjoying his time on the golf course, indulging in the thrill of gambling, and cherishing moments with his beloved grandchildren. Danny was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.

In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister, and his grandson, Chuckie Cook. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Mary (Alvoid) Kidwell; his daughter, Kathy Mohler; son, Jeff Kidwell; step-daughter, Renee Anthony (husband Raymond Mitchell); grandchildren, Alexis Anthony, Blake Morgan, Lori (Matt) Mathias, Emily Kidwell, Willie Cook (Kirstin), and Erin Cook; as well as great-grandchildren, Xavier, Oaklee, Matilyn, Annabell, Amilya, Bailey, Wyatt, and Mason. Danny is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joan Kidwell-Hogle, and several nieces, nephews, and golfing buddies who will miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 4-6 pm on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. The funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the same location, with interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. Immediately following the graveside service, the family invites all to join them at the Eagles on Brice Road to celebrate Danny's life and the joy he brought to so many.

In honor of Danny’s love for the Ohio State Buckeyes, please feel free to wear your Buckeye gear to the services. Your tribute to his favorite team will be of great comfort to his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
