Caleb Andrew Finnegan Thorne, age 20, passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2022. He was born on June 17, 2002 in Connecticut as part of the post 9/11 baby boom. He was the son of Andrew Thorne of Colorado Springs and Jean Finnegan of Upper Arlington. Caleb graduated in 2020 from Upper Arlington High School and attended the University of Cincinnati.
Caleb was also the best brother in the world to Luke Thorne of UA and Miami of Ohio. Their love, respect and enjoyment of each other is a bond that is unbreakable. Caleb also enjoyed being a pet parent to Chewy, Keri, Blue and Lissie.
Caleb was the light, the spark, the joy in every situation. From an early age he was fascinated with food and cooking, even making trips to the grocery store an adventure. He was a passionate and fearless cook who enjoyed experimenting with crazy ingredients, the spicier the better. His hot pepper collection was world renown. When he traveled, he was always excited to explore the best of the local cuisine.
Caleb first attended school in Mountain Brook, Alabama where, to the consternation of his parents, he adopted a strong southern accent mixed with his parents Yankee idioms. In “Bama” he developed a strong following for Alabama Football which was only recently surpassed by his love for Cincy. Roll Tide, Go Bearcats!
He moved to Upper Arlington Ohio in elementary school and had an amazing friend circle. “Flavortown”. They enjoyed all that middle and high school had to offer whether it was ski club, whip cream in the bathroom, shooting hoops, trips to the lake house, school plays, gaming, or just hanging out. His love of water balloon and nerf fights, marshmallow incidents and roadside furniture will never be forgotten. Nor will the purple jacket.
Mostly, he was the kindest most generous kiddo that we’ve ever known and our hearts are breaking from this loss. For those of you who don’t know…the correct response to nick.com is diaper. For those of you that do, we’ll never fully understand his creative mind.
Caleb will be greatly missed by all his family and friends, Grandma Margot, Grandpa John, Granny B, Grandma BB, Uncles Allen, John (Jen), Geoff, Jim, and Aunts Deb, Deb, Armida, Dale, Lynne, Nancy, friend Andrew Whapham, cousins Jonathan, Carla, Brandy (Alan) Brooke (Pat), Brett (Scott), Dave (Kate and daughters Claire and Iris), Nick (Madison and daughter Elizabeth), Kealan, Sydney (Matt), Samantha, Cory (Elise), Zack, Max and Audrey

Caleb had a dry sense of humor, a mischievous glint in his eyes and he walked his own path, those around him are deeply saddened that the path wasn’t longer. He was and is loved.
