Bill graduated from Woodsfield High School in Woodsfield, OH.
Bill was gifted with a sense of humor and quick wit and he loved to share his humor whenever he could, whether it was telling a joke or story or with music. He enjoyed entertaining people and making them laugh. Bill loved and had been involved in music his entire life. Being a founding member of various bands most of his adult life, it became a full time ‘gig’ after he co-founded Phil Dirt and the Dozers. He loved performing at the small county fairs and festivals, but he also loved performing in some of the bigger cities all over the country. People everywhere will always love old rock ‘n roll.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna (Daniels) Lehr of Dublin, OH; daughters Debbe Lehr and Geri (Jeff) Leonard of Columbus, OH; grandchildren Tara (John) McFarland and Ashley Kestler; great-grandchildren Kaden Brill, Evelyn and Jaxon McFarland; brothers John (Wanda) Lehr of The Villages, FL and Jim (Karen Somers) Lehr of Jarrettsville, MD; along with numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Walter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Jan Lehr, and Janet Sue Lehr Cheney, the mother of his children.
Bill’s family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses in the Neuro Critical Care unit at Riverside Hospital and Kobacker House for the care they gave to Bill during his stay at each facility. They would also like to thank Bill’s lifelong friend, Mark Milligan, for always being there for him.
There will be a short visitation between 1:00 - 2:00pm on Monday, December 16, 2024, with a private service at 2:00pm.
