Tony was born on February 13, 1948 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Louis Edward Markiecki and Delight (Domingo) DeLao Rojas. He graduated from Ecorse High School in Ecorse, Michigan. Following high school, Tony served in the United States Army for two years as a radio communications specialist. During his enlistment, he was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany. After proudly serving his country, Tony moved to Ohio and furthered his education and technical training. He started his career as a technician with IRD Mechanalysis. He grew with the company and eventually retired as a technical support engineer with Rockwell Automation.
Tony was a loving husband for over 48 years to Rhonda where they built their family in Ohio. Tony was a big family man, and he was proud to be a dad and grandpa. Tony had a soft spot for all the furfamily, especially the dogs, and his most recent dog, Gracie. His favorite pastimes included making car models and collecting diecast cars. Tony enjoyed watching NASCAR and all Michigan sports with his family. He was also a licensed amateur radio operator, and he loved his police scanners and collecting ham radios. Tony also had a great love of music that he passed on to his children.
In addition to his parents, Tony is preceded in death by his step-father, Domingo Rojas; his siblings, Dwight Markiecki, Lou Ann Fox, Benita Gavan, Carolena Edwards, and Lucy Rojas; and a grandson, Baby Markiecki.
Tony is survived by his loving wife, Rhonda Markiecki; his children, Dawn Markiecki, Nathan (Kelly) Markiecki; Amanda (Jonathon) Masteller; his grandchildren, Matthew Markiecki, Michael Markiecki, Hayden Masteller, and Sarah Markiecki; his siblings, Josephine (Joe) Segedy, Daniel (Mary) Markiecki, Linda (Mike) Napiantek, Margarita Montgomery, Mingo Rojas, and Delores Rojas; many nieces and nephews; any many other relatives and friends.
Family will accept friends on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Advantage by Schoedinger North, 5554 Karl Rd, Columbus, OH 43229. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:30am with Military Honors and with Father Anthony Davis officiating.
