Andrew Levenworth Whipple, 88, born November 12, 1930, in Norwalk, CT, passed away (or went to his eternal home to be with the Lord) in Columbus, OH, on September 22, 2019. Beloved son of Joseph Reed and Kathlyn Winton Gorham Whipple, of Norwalk, CT, Andrew is survived by his wife, Judy Whipple, of Upper Arlington, OH, devoted father to daughters Kathryn (Timothy) Rastok of San Diego, CA, Karen (Douglas) Frederking of Venus, TX, and son, Andrew (Elizabeth) Whipple Jr., of Groveport, OH. He is also survived by stepdaughters Fran (Dell) Moller of Pickerington, OH and Jodi (Mike) Crowe of Upper Arlington, OH. Grandchildren: Brandon (Carissa) Rastok of Santa Rosa, CA, Alexandria (Allen) Lynch of Fayetteville, OH, Berrick Rastok of San Diego, CA, Nickolas Frederking of Garland, TX, Nathaniel Frederking of Arlington, TX, Janie and Sophie Moller of Pickerington, OH and Carly and Griffin Crowe of Upper Arlington, OH. Great Grandchildren: Remi Rastok of Santa Rosa, CA and Ella Mae and Kash Lynch of Fayetteville, OH. Andrew is preceded by his parents and his brothers Joseph Jr. "Bud" and John of Battleboro, Vermont; Walter and James (Ida) of Norwalk, CT; and Fred (Barbara) of Ridgefield, CT; and his sister, Mary Eckert of Brattleboro, Vermont. He is survived by his sister, Betty Kish of Seacrest, FL, along with many adoring nieces and nephews. Andrew was a decorated veteran who served in both the USAF as an aircraft maintenance technician during the Korean War and the USNR in the Navy Sea Bees Construction Battalion. He served in Kimpo, Korea and in other duty stations between both coasts of the US. He served as the President of the 4th Fighter Interceptor Wing, Korean War Era Association for 16 years along with his wife, Judy. They had members from across the U.S. and hosted reunions nationwide. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion, James B. Whipple Post 0086, Wilton, CT. He had a successful career in sales with many companies to include Grolier World Book Encyclopedia and later worked in real estate and franchise sales. He was an avid gardener and farmer who loved his farm located in Groveport, OH. He later enjoyed his time living in central Florida with many visits from friends and family over the 19 years spent there. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as well as his siblings and their families both in Florida and in New England. He leaves behind many cherished friends across the US who will miss him greatly. There will be a special time of viewing and visiting with family at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH, 43221, on Sunday, September 29, 2019, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Andrew will then be laid to rest with military honors at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019, at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428.
