He was born April 9, 1941 to the late William "Harry" and Pearl Moore. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dale, and a granddaughter, Timber.
He was a graduate of Capital University and served in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1975 and was able to travel extensively with assignments in Nebraska, Germany, Washington D.C, and Alabama.
As a veteran, he was proud to have had the opportunity to serve. He enjoyed any conversation involving the military and those who wore the uniform in service to their country.
He spent the next 29 years as a computer systems analyst for Berkline Corporation, Puritan Bennett Corporation and Dorcy International before his retirement from Ohio Police and Fire Pension Fund in 2004.
He was a Buckeye fan, but secretly rooted for the UT Vols.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Burdetta Moore; three children, Allen (Kimberly) of Jonesborough, TN; Christine Moore-Somerlock (Carl) of Bunker Hill, West Virginia; Heather Patterson of Columbus, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Zach Morris; Mackenzie Moore-Gent (Hunter); Saige Mitchell; Ashley Moore-Riddle (Ethan); Payne Patterson; Levi Barr and Serena Barr.
He is also survived by Kathryn Shroyer, a very special person to our entire family;
by his brothers and sisters in law Ron Shroyer (Stephanie); Cathie Harris and Dan Shroyer (Carolyn.) He considered them much more than "in-laws." He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and many friends.
A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
