Viola Wells, 79, of Columbus, died at 2:55 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor James Allen and Pastor Bud Thompson officiating. Calling will be Friday from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
She was born July 31, 1932 in Knifley, Kentucky the daughter of Ernest and Bessie Watson Goodin.
Mrs. Wells is survived by her husband, George R. Wells; a son, Donald (Jill) Perry of North Vernon; stepdaughters, Louise (Harold) Stilabower of Orlando, Fla., Ethel (Jean) Sneed of Hope, Margie (Rick) Wiltsey of Columbus and Brenda (Rick) Astle of Mountain View, Ark.; a brother, Elbert Goodin of Columbus; a sister, Helen Turner of Columbia, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by parents and children, Lisa Thompson and Allan Straub.
