Steven Carroll

Steven Carroll, 73, of Hartsville passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. Steven was born in Columbus August 21, 1948, the son of Delmer and Louise Hardy Carroll. He married Karen Ward April 19, 1981 at the Mercy Missionary Baptist Church. He retired after, 17 years, from production at the Faurecia Gladstone Plant. He was a member of Mercy Missionary Baptist Church. He loved mowing grass, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Carroll of Hartsville; children, Jennifer (Klint) Brown of Morgantown, Jeremy (Charity) Carroll of Westport, Timothy Carroll of Columbus, Kara Carroll of North Vernon and Greg “Butch” (Kate) Velasquez of Greencastle, IN; 14 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. Siblings, Bonnie (Eddie) Lovins of Somerset, KY, Barbara (Steven) Mays of Reddington, Lois (Elwood) Brown and Gary (Kathy) Carroll both of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Decker; brothers, Jack, Bobby Ray, Jimmy Dale Carroll; sister, Juanita Faye Carroll. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Hathaway~Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Revs. Gary Carroll and Ronnie Bays officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
