Rose was born in Fancy Farm, Kentucky, June 14, 1929, Rose was the daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Burgess. She married Rondal M. “Max” Turnbow on May 21, 1948, in Fancy Farm, and they later moved to Columbus.
She had worked the former Ayr-Way store, which is now Target, Bruning's Dress Shop and sold Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries, and enjoyed her flower gardening.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014, at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with Father Doug Marcott officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church or Bartholomew County Humane Society.

Among survivors are her children, Ron (Judy) Turnbow, Debby (Dennis) Knulf, Barry (Paula) Turnbow, Jeff (Carla) Turnbow, and Russ (Nadine) Turnbow, all of Columbus, and Lisa Turnbow of Turks and Caicos Islands; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Burnett of Warren, Michigan; and her faithful friend, Buster.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Aug. 9, 2009; and brothers, Tom, Chuck, Joe and Paul Burgess.
