Marilyn Kay (Nikirk) Rathsman, 81, formerly of Columbus passed away Friday November 19, 2021 at Greenwood Village South in Greenwood. Marilyn was born in Oolitic, Indiana July 28, 1940 the daughter of Isaac M. and Ida Ethel New Nikirk. She married Everett L. Rathsman, Jr. March 11, 1967 in Bedford, he preceded her in death May 25, 2018. She attended Indiana University and retired as a Probate Para Legal from the Law Office of Richard Enyon. She attended First Lutheran Church of Columbus and was a member of Bible Study Fellowship. She enjoyed reading, cooking and loved to work. She is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Phillip) Pongracz of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Abigail (Wyatt) Bowles of Altus, Oklahoma and Adam Pongracz of Indianapolis; sisters, Elsie Webb of Oolitic and Betty (Kenny) Speer of Oolitic; brother, Mike (Kim) Nikirk of Kodak, Tennessee; sister-in-law, Cara Jeffries of Columbus. She was preceded in death by parents; husband; brothers, Warren, Walter, Wendell and Jerry Nikirk. A funeral service will be conducted at First Lutheran Church Tuesday a 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Isbell officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to service time Tuesday at the Church.
