Mrs. Parker was born in Richmond, IN. on November 28, 1928 the daughter of the late Paul and Frances Mathews Burris.
She married Roy L. Parker in Columbus, IN. on August 07, 1949 and he preceded her in death on April 25, 1997.
Mrs. Parker was a 1946 graduate of Columbus High School.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Parker was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a former secretary. She was a member of the Modern Homemakers Extension Club, the P.E.O. Sisterhood Beta Mu Chapter, the Columbus Order Eastern Star and she was the first Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. Mrs. Parker was also a member and Past President of the Exchangettes. She was an avid fan of the Four Freshman and the Purdue Boilermakers.
The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Parker will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Myers-Reed Chapel at 3729-25th St. with the Rev. Dan Wallace officiating.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday and from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery.
Honorary Pallbearers are Gene Tovey, Joe Lain, Fred Allman and Ken Bowman.
Active Pallbearers are Mrs. Parker's grandsons, Steve, Ryan and Kirby Parker, Kyle Flinn and Jon Owens and her grandsons-in-laws, Kyle Swihart, Ben Knapp and Andrew Fisher.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church’s Choir fund or Youth Ministry Fund.

Mrs. Parker is survived by two sons, Robert (Meredith) Parker of Columbus, IN. and Richard (Lu Ann) Parker of West Lafayette, IN.; two daughters, Sandra Parker Owens of Columbus, IN. and Jayne (Randal) Flinn of Covington, IN.; a brother, Robert Burris of Columbus, IN.; twelve grandchildren, Steve (Jenny) Parker of Durham, NC, Betsy (Ben) Knapp of Pendleton, SC, Cami (Andrew) Fisher of Lawrenceburg, KY., Angie and Jonathan Owens both of Columbus, IN., Hannah (Kyle) Swihart and Kelly, Ryan and Kirby Parker all of West Lafayette, IN. and Kristine, Kyle and Katelyn Flinn all of Covington, IN.; and four great grandchildren, Adyson, Kaylee and Caidyn Swihart all of West Lafayette, IN. and Ellana Parker of Durham, NC.
Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Parker was also preceded in death by an infant brother.
