Charles Joseph Beatty, 94, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Charles was born May 25, 1926 in Columbus, Indiana to Dillard and Georgia Beatty. He served in the Army during WWII in the European Theater.
On December 22, 1951 he married Donna Williams.
He enjoyed driving race cars in his younger years. He always enjoyed his job as a mechanic, working on cars; and later, farm implements.
Charles was an active member in the American Legion, 40 and 8 and AMVETS. He was a long time member of the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard until his later years.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna; sister, Mary Sampson; and half sisters, Mildred Fields and Geraldine Gagel.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan Richart and Wendy Gates, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is also survived by sisters, Norma Beatty and Grace Owens; and a brother, Dillard “Butch” Beatty Jr.
Memorials in Charles’ name may be made to the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
