Billie R. Williams, 82, of Columbus died peacefully at 7:15 a.m. March 13, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Billie was born and raised in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Raymond and Nada Hendrix Sturman. She graduated from Indiana State Laboratory High School in 1950 and retired in 1991 after 27 years with Indiana Bell and AT&T.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing scrabble, traveling and spending time with her friends and family. Billie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Lowell T. Williams who she married April 29, 1950 in Linton, Indiana. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Jack, Mary, Margaret, Alice, Nada, Claude, Reva and Neva. Billie is survived by her daughter, Helen Wildermuth, Nashville, Indiana; sons, Albert Williams, Springfield, Missouri and Tom (Sherry) Williams, Colleyville, Texas; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service for Billie will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday March 16, 2015 at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Chaplain Phyllis Hawkins officiating. Calling will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
