William Joshua Davis, age 35, of Columbus, GA passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born April 1, 1989 in Columbus, GA. He was the son of the late, William Mark and Vickie Sue (Gibson) Davis.
He received his GED in 2005 and joined the U.S. Army where he served for 4 years. During his service in the Army, Josh received 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star from combat deployments as a Private Second Class.
Josh loved spending time with Emily’s children, Jackie, Cheyanne and Sam. He had the “Midas Touch” with children, he could make any baby stop crying. He enjoyed the water and spent many summers going swimming and fishing at “Riverview.” Josh also loved Retro video games, Nintendo 64 and Sega. He cherished his friends he made in the military, Stephen and Jimmy. He was very proud of his brother, Matt for his success in the military. Josh had a deeply ingrained sense of family loyalty, “Family First.” He appreciated the friends that helped him along the way, Don and Joey. He really loved life and always lived it to the fullest.
Survivors include his siblings, Matthew Woodruff, Emily Mackey; his aunts, Ashley “Nikki” Darling, Tracy Parker; his nephews, Mark Woodruff, Sam Mackey; his nieces, Cheyanne Davis, Jackie Peart; as well as his cousins, Alex Hemmings, and Anna Sheppard.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, 553 Highway 165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856 on Friday, November 14, 2024 at 10:00AM.
