She is preceded in death by both parents and had no siblings. She is survived by extended family in North Carolina, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky and Texas.
Miss Lybarger was born June 27, 1947 in New York City, the daughter of Earnest and Mae Lybarger. As an Army brat, she traveled widely in her early childhood years, beginning with going to Japan at six months. She made 32 moves in both the States and Europe, including Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark and France before beginning school in France. Her father retired from Fort Benning and the family settled permanently in Columbus when Wanda was 9.
She graduated from Columbus High School and then received her BFA from LaGrange College in LaGrange, GA. A career in the art field followed, that included advertising artist for Kirven's department store, Federal Civil Service as a book designer and illustrator at Ft. Benning, a computer graphics artist at Litho-Krome Company. She also pursued exhibition of her personal art as well as a 25 year hobby of story illustration published in over 61 amateur and semi-professional magazines. Another lifelong passion was carving and puppetry. She created puppets for several local troupes for Hansel and Gretel, Peter and the Wolf and the Beast That Had Little to Say.
There will be immediate burial at Parkhill on (date) beside her parents in the Veterans' Garden.
