Ronald "Ronnie" Dean Ross

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA with Reverend Barry Danner officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Ronnie was born August 19, 1945 in Springfield, IL, son of the late George Daniel and Nellie Louise Shockley Ross. He was a man of many trades including, Painter, Carpenter, Upholsterer, and Truck Driver. Ronnie was also a Vietnam Veteran. He loved working in his wood shop, bird watching, and being outdoors. We will miss his presence, wisdom, and love daily, but his memory will live on forever in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ross was preceded in death by two sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Cupie Ross of Phenix City, AL; one son, Daniel Dean Ross and his wife, Teresa of Phenix City, AL; one daughter, Penny Leigh Miller and her husband, Paul of Phenix City, AL; two stepdaughters, Kay Revells and her husband, Jimmy of Columbus, GA, Tina Bowen and her husband, Todd of Social Circle, GA; one step son, Ray Woodell and his wife, Donna of Social Circle, GA; eight grandchildren, Joshua Ross Feller, Rachel Louise Feller, Mary Kay Revells, Leroy Revells, Jennifer Revells, Crystal Woodell, Kelly Bowen, and Steven Woodell; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Louise Ross, Pearl Ross, JoAnn Crain, and Patti Spies.
