Randy Garner

Randy Garner, age 35, resident of Hamilton, GA., died on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. Memorial services are scheduled at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, 7 p.m. with Reverend Tommy Hart officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 6-7 p.m. Mr. Garner, son of Elizabeth Joan Hamilton Garner and the late Billy Charles Garner, Sr., was born May 7, 1974 in Columbus. He was a 1992 graduate of Tri-County High School and graduate of Columbus Technical College where he received an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. Mr. Garner was an employee of Pratt Whitney, where he served faithfully for over 12 years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding motorcycles. Mr. Garner is survived by his wife, Emily Garner of Hamilton, GA; a son, Luke Randall Garner, also of Hamilton, GA; his mother, Joan Garner Kaplan and her husband Jacob of Buena Vista, GA; one brother, Billy Garner and his wife Karie of West Point, GA; niece, Natalie Garner of West Point, GA; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Lindsey of Buena Vista, GA; father and mother in-law, Sam and Emily Morton of Phenix City, AL; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
