Peggy Joyce Morris, age 80, of Phenix City, Alabama passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. She was born in Taylor County, Georgia on December 6, 1942 to the late Susie Corine Applewhite Belk and Marshall Melvin Belk Sr. She was a Baker High School graduate and lived most of her life in the Columbus area. Peggy worked at Swift Textile Mills for many years. She was married to Curtis Morris in 1984. Peggy was Christian by faith and attended Evangel Church of Columbus.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt who lived her life sharing her faith and values of life. She had a great sense of humor and could find joy and laughter in the everyday walk called life. Peggy enjoyed playing board games and cards. Peggy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her husband, Curtis Morris; sons: Scott (Alice) Shriner and Glenn (Mitzie) Morris; her daughters: Vicky (James Jr.) Mills, Sherry (Mike) Sullivan, Tiffany (Mark) Ransom, Candice (Carl) Schrimpf, Connie (Jerry Hoerschgen) Morris, and Karen Morris; sisters: Emily (Mike) Tillman and Patricia (George) Braddy; grandsons: Christopher (Taylor) May, Brandon (Emily) May, James (Jamie) Mills III, Richard Mills, Stephen (Hannah) Ogburn, and Austin (Taylor) Morris; granddaughter, Catherine (Jeremy) Daniels; twenty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and best friend Walter Browder.
A visitation for family and friends of Peggy will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia with Pastor Bud Rupel and Pastor Paul Thomas officiating.
