He is preceded in death by his parents, Jewel C. and Mavis W. Marchbanks, brother John W., and sisters Peggy Schipani, Geraldine Graham, Regena Bennett, Beverly Wagnon, Sharon Harris, and Carol Neal.
Paul is survived by his grandson, Joey Hernandez, sisters Julia Roles(John), Barbara Whitlock, Nancy Harrison, brothers-in-law Philip Wagnon, Richard Harris, Sr. as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM with a visitation from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907 with Pastor Jerry Gilliland officiating. A private burial will be at ParkHill Cemetery.
Paul lived in Columbus most of his life. He graduated Baker High School in 1962 and Columbus Technical School in 1964. He was a draftsman for Mullins Richards Engineering and Contacting Company before he served in the U.S. Army at Ft Bliss. After serving his country, he returned to Columbus and his work as a draftsman. In 1970, he started working as an independent contractor. Paul was a long time member of New Apostolic Church in Columbus. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, rooting for his favorite football team-UGA, and cooking good meals.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Apostolic Church of Columbus, American Cancer Society for research of melanoma, or your favorite charity.
